Horizon Breaker

The past week i have been up to the usually antics of leveling as fast as possible and trying to prepare myself for the 50+ grind. Also squeezing in unsuccessful attempts of trying to obtain my Moldavite Earring with the help of Tsunami during the slower hours of leveling have been becoming more common.

While the different party's and different areas that i level start to get more diverse and exotic i start to do nothing but think about how much closer i am to getting 51 and that the Genkai level cap quests are starting to get closer and closer which in some ways effects how well i play Red mage which any one who has played Red Mage knows takes patience and a keen eye and strategical mind. In one of my Crawlers Nest party's we had this Bard names Mieka who i was happy to have in the party because make a Red Mages job alot easier and we both got to talking which helped the time and exp fly by. Well, Mieka offered to help me get the GK quest item Paper which is the hardest of them all to get and has been known to take several hours to obtain. so after our Crawlers Nest party ended we headed out to The Eldieme Necropolis and started killing lichs and after about 40min of killing we finally got the goods.

Later on in the week after i leveled to 50 i got Tsunami to come and help me get the other 2 items need for the GK1 quest, but it came with a price he brought along this 14 year old, balls haven't dropped, i live in a bomb shellter underneath my shed in the backyard personality kid from his linkshell Synergy. How "Bat" a 14 yearold kid managed to get into a Endgame LS is beyond me, not to mention he doesn't talk at ALL. I told Tsunami to give the kid the Ventrillo info so we wouldnt have to use the chat logs and have a civilized conversation, but there wasnt anything civilized about it. It was as if i was talking to a non living breathing rock. I would ask a question in ventrillo and the kid would either type one word in /say or /tell Tsuanmi who would then rellay the message to me on vent. So "Bat" if you read this section either do us a favor and just stop breathing since you wont be using the air to speak anyways or start have conversations with your pillow to start getting familiar with talking to people even NEW people which is the only way to make friends, get a job, have a relationship and ect...

I was tired of leveling so i figured i would go and start collecting the rest of my Red Mage AF. With the help of some friends in Ignition i was able to get 4/5 pieces of my AF. The only piece left that i need to obtain is the Warlock's Chapeau which im half way done with i just need to kill the NM past the 1st Banishing Gate in The Garlaige Citadel. Thats all i have been up to so far except for the occasional Tele-whoring to raise money for my HQ Elemental Staves =/.

Playing Catch Up

Since i started Noken back in March and it is now July i thought it would be a good idea to catch everyone up to my current adventures. As of this point i have accomplished only a few things due to the fact that i have been trying to level my Red Mage as fast as possible to try and catch up to my long time best friend Tsunami who already has several lvl75 jobs some of which are Bard, Ninja, and Red Mage.

Rank wise i am currently Rank 2 on the mission 2-3 the dragon mission the reason i am waiting on doing this is i have heard rumors about people soloing it. So i figure id give it a shot as Rdm/Nin and post a video and step by step guide if succesfull =D. The only other missions i have done is some CoP which i am currently on 2-5. A few friends of mine in real life play FFXI also with me Wastelander(Anue), Ryusin, and Lethean. All have been playing FFXI longer then I and are the real reasons why i started playing. We all knocked out the Promys one night doing Dem and Holla with ease but Mea was another story. Even though SE made a select few missions in CoP easier, promys being one, somehow we managed to loose the 1st time. The reason to our lose was that the tank was letting the Delver run around and getting close to the mages which is bad because he like to spam this move called Carousel which is an aoe knockback move that deals around 150-250 dmg eaech time. Now it can be stopped with animas but Lethean the rng messed up the macro line for his anima and never put a at the end of his command ><. The Second time went much smoother because the summoners 2hr was ready which is pretty much a garunteed win.

Later on that week we all decided to go do CoP 2-3 which intales us to go into The Phomiuna Aqueducts a lvl 40cap area that is mostly sound agro and truesight tauri. We somehow got a full allience of people from shouting in Jueno and we all headed for The Tavnazian Safehold. Once all were here we sent a scout to head to the Minotaur which sucks the whole allience in once it is targeted by someone, well in mid buff the only spells the mages had casted were protect and shell some noob thought he would declair himself the leader of the allience and told the scout to go ahead and target it to begin the fight. All of a sudden there all 18 of us are without warning in this room that had ankle high stagnite water with this ugly dinosaur looking mob that decided to say hello by doing an aoe bringing everyone to yellow HP. As things went from bad to maybe if try to run for it ill live, the party chat log filled up with WTFs and ZOMGs and the people that thought they could run just get sucked back into the fight to get hit with another aoe and die in a nice semicircle around the Minotaur. With a quick flick of my fingure i removed the noobasaurous from the allience ran all the way from Jueno to The Phomiuna Aqueducts to get everyone raised back up. Once buffed and ready we continued our mission in that wet nightmare of a place and came out to get myself to CoP 2-5.

The next day Tsunami and his Bst friends wanted to go farm Fomor Codex down in The Phomiuna Aqueducts >< reluctant at first i gave with the hopes of getting one to be one step closer to a Swift Belt. Our party setup was Bst, Bst, Blu, Whm(me) i told them about how i would like to see if the some of the NM's were up and if we could farm some subligar while we are down here. After 2hrs of farming for fomor codexs and not getting a single one we headed to the bat NM Tres Duendes which drops 3 very very nice rar/ex weapons that can be used around lvl40. Both the Bst's had a 2hr'd Oil Spill which are awsome we pulled tres and with a few minor hickups we downed him and he dropped all 3 rar/ex weapons ^^

I got the Niokiyotsuna a nice Katana with Dbl Atk +1, Tsunami got the Dagger, and Echizen got the rape H2H weapon. Congrats guys ^^

Since Yggdrasil didn get anything we agred to let him get Fomor Tunic if Eba dropped it which was out next target. With the 2hr'd Oil Spills still with us we went off to go get Eba who is always up cause she usually beats the pulp out of anyone who fights her. Tsunami sicked his slime to go get Eba and before you know it we see this Mithra charging down the dark hall after us. After a semi lengthy 8min fight we defetied the vial mithra to be rewarded with a nice gift. ^^

Having going as far as desired atm for CoP mission and finally getting Whm to 42 for Rdm sub and Tele-Taxi i went out to go get the Tele scroll. To keep thinks short i obtained all the tele scrolls and the white marble needed for the Tele-Altep scroll only took me and tsunami about 15min to get. Having finished Whm for probably a very very long time i started my long Rdm road to 75. So far i haven't unlocked any of the advanced jobs i'm waiting untill 60 to start that and i already got my ToaU boat pass have yet to travel out there. As for NM's i have camped a few helping friends camp but i haven't gotten anything of desire except for in Fort Ghelshba i was out there messing around and there is this NM-Chariotbuster Byakzak that has a 1/10 chance of spawning off another NM-Orchish Panzer after you kill it and i thought i would kill the Panzer for fun and once he was dead i started running away when i started getting attacked by Mr. Byakzak^^ so i burned him down fast and got the 100% drop.

With a lady luck on my side i hope she sticks around with me throughout my adventures in Vana'diel =D

Welcome to the blogged misadventures of Noken of the Ramuh server. If you look in the dictionary and the term FFXI Addict happened to be listed my picture would be the one displayed. I started playing FFXI near the release of the PS2 version back in March 2004. My previous character "Ramulax" was lost do to me taking a break in the winter of 2006 to try my hand at WoW. After getting a 70 priest on coilfang i quickly saw how redundant the game is and the only thing going for it is the pvp which so random at that. So i came back to my true love in March 2007 with a new character and now that its mid July i figured i would try my hand at a blog and chronicle my adventures with friends new and old as i travel through the world of Vana'diel.
